About JZ Design

Founded in 2017 by Julia Zettler (NCIDQ), our women-led firm is built on collaboration, transparency, and thoughtful planning. We develop detailed construction drawings that streamline the bidding process, minimize costly change orders, and support a smooth, stress-free remodel. Our 3D renderings help you visualize your space before construction begins—giving you clarity and confidence in every decision.

Whether you’re preparing for a renovation, addition, or new build, our design team brings creativity, expertise, and meticulous attention to detail to every project. Explore our portfolio for inspiration and discover how we design for every style—from rustic to modern, traditional to contemporary.

Meet Our Team

  • Julia Zettler, NCIDQ, started Julia Zettler Design in 2017. After working for over a decade in both the commercial and residential design build space, she knew there must be a simpler way to get clients great designs while giving them control over their remodel projects, and so Julia Zettler Design was born. Julia finds great joy in working with clients to come up with a design that balances efficiency, functionality and aesthetics in their homes. Julia loves designing in 3D, allowing clients to visualize and make educated decisions about their remodel. As Principal Designer, Julia oversees every project the JZD team works on.

Born and raised in Colorado, Julia received a degree in Interior Design from Colorado State University. After college, she went to work for large design firms and also taught college level design courses before starting JZD. Julia and her husband, Greg, have 3 amazing kids and love spending their downtime with family.

  • Emily has been passionate about beautiful, functional design for as long as she can remember. Growing up in Denver, she fell in love with the historic homes in her neighborhood, sparking a lifelong fascination with interiors. But for Emily, great design goes beyond aesthetics: Spaces need to truly work for the people who live in them. A fantastic listener, Emily takes the time to understand how her clients move through their homes to design spaces that function beautifully (and look beautiful, too!).

As much as she loves a dramatic before-and-after, Emily’s favorite part of the job is the relationships she builds along the way. She believes that a well-designed home should reflect the people who live there and that the process of creating it should be just as enjoyable as the final reveal.

When she’s not designing, you can find Emily cheering on her kids at soccer and baseball games, tackling her own home projects, and planning her family’s next travel adventure.

  • Tabitha is an NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer. With over 15 years in the residential design/build industry, Tabitha has worn many hats including designing, estimating, and project coordination.  At Julia Zettler Design Tabitha is the designer behind the curtain, geeking out over every project’s details to make sure no detail is left out. With a keen eye for details and building code, Tabitha reviews every construction drawing to ensure that every detail is in place for construction to go smoothly.

Outside of work, Tabitha enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. She also enjoys reading, baking and skiing.

  • Shannon joins our team with a background in sports and corporate marketing, but from the time she was a little girl she would seek to find outlets to explore her creative side. Photography, pottery and painting were just a few of her favorite pastimes. She also loved to rearrange and design the spaces she lived in. That's why, when the opportunity arose to work for Julia Zettler Design, she was elated to work alongside a team of women who strive to find design and creativity in their daily work.

Shannon grew up on the east coast, but for the past 6 years she's called Colorado home. She lives in Broomfield with her husband, Adam, two children and dog, Cash. When she's not working or chasing kids, she enjoys yoga, running, skiing, camping and traveling.

  • As a designer at Julia Zettler Design, Kimberlee loves elevating her clients’ everyday lives by creating spaces that are just as functional as they are beautiful. Her favorite thing about designing is problem solving for the unique requirements, challenges and situations each project presents to create the most enjoyable space possible.

Kimberlee received her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Colorado at Denver and worked previously in the residential design/build space. She and her husband have an amazing heart-warrior son. When she’s not designing, Kimberlee’s favorite activities include long-distance running, backpacking and traveling, though these days you’re more likely to find her walking to the park with her son or catching a morning ride on the Peloton.
